The Sky is the Limit!

Church today was wonderful! No Really! I decided to go to church with the intention of bringing our baby girl to Children’s Church and meeting up with a family member following but had I known that this day would have been such a blessing, I would have been a bit more hyped up about me being blessed.  In addition to the praise and worship by the entire congregation and the lovely songs from the choir, there was an addition by the name of  Jekalyn Carr- Need I say more. This young gal can minister (Madea’s voice).  She was truly an inspiration as to what God will do to a yielded heart (take it and use it).

So how high would you go for God today? Be Blessed! 🙂

REVIEW: Sofn’free NOTHING BUT CLEANSING CONDITIONER

REVIEW: Sofn’free NOTHING BUT CLEANSING CONDITIONER

How do I start? I can’t even begin to express how disappointed I am in having used this Sofn’free Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash.  I bought this Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash for just that, co-washing our daughter’s type 4 hair and I have to say that just using a regular conditioner did 100% better for co-washing than this Sofn’free Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner.  I bought this cleansing conditioner from the beauty supply store right here in New York City.  I’ll conclude with the saying “If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all”, but just to give an idea, someone stated “It’s stinky!”, and that’s not even close to the woes of having used this Cleansing Conditioner.  I am unhappy to have tried the Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash, as it was also a huge waste of my money. The price is $8.99 for 16 oz.

DOCTOR CABELLO ARGAN OIL DEEP CONDITIONER

REVIEW: DOCTOR CABELLO ARGAN OIL DEEP CONDITIONER

To start, I’m just in love with this Argan oil deep conditioner.  I was looking for a deep conditioner for dry hair and for growth, and I’ll say that, this is the one!  I happened upon this deep conditioner in a beauty supply store right here in New York City. As a side note, this is one of many Dominican deep conditioners that you’ll more than likely find being used in any Dominican Hair Salon here in New York City.  Furthermore, this deep conditioner is made in the Dominican Republic and I was told by the beauty supply store clerk that this Argan oil deep conditioner is the Dominican equivalent to the Moroccan Oil being sold in stores, but for much, much less.  After using this deep conditioner on my daughter’s natural hair (type 4) and seeing such great results, I am sold.  By the way, this Argan oil deep conditioner is Sulfate Free, if anyone is interested.

Price: An 8 oz container of this conditioner sells for $5.99 and the 16 oz container sells for $9.99 (cheap).

UPDATE: Castor Oil acne cure

UPDATE: Review: Home Health Castor Oil Cold Pressed and Cold Processed

This is an update to my post last week regarding using Castor Oil as an acne cure, and the previous post is found here.  As I stated in that post, I had put 5 drops of castor oil into my facial oil moisturizer which is about 15 ml.

If you’re wondering whether or not I have finally found the cure for acne, the answer is still a resounding No.  Furthermore, I had to stop using my facial oil moisturizer before the end of this week, because I ended up with pimples on my cheeks, and that is never a good thing. It’s worth noting that I was using the Cold Pressed Castor Oil by Home Health for my facial oil moisturizer, so this should not be an issue of the Castor Oil’s quality.

Here is a picture of the Castor Oil used:

Castor Oil

I also stated in my previous post regarding my Castor Oil acne cure that I have also tried the Oil Cleansing Method with the same Castor Oil at 10% with another carrier oil, and I still found Castor Oil to be too drying for my face.  I do have very dry skin.

Thumbs down!

I was wondering whether any of you readers found Castor Oil favorable for curing acne.

Castor Oil acne cure

Review: Home Health Castor Oil Cold Pressed and Cold Processed

I have been using Castor Oil by Home Health for my acne mainly because I wanted a more natural form of treatment.  I initially used this Castor Oil for the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) along with another carrier oil at 10% and I have to say that still this was quite drying for my face.  I have very dry skin.  I tried applying this Castor Oil by itself as a moisturizer on my face and I also found this to be too drying.  So lately, I began to use the Castor Oil in my facial oil moisturizer however, in a blend of 15 ml at 5 drops.  In other words, I put 5 drops of castor oil into my facial oil moisturizer which is about 15 ml.

Castor Oil

Home Health Castor Oil Cold Pressed and Cold Processed:

  • Pure, Natural emollient oil
  • Softens and nourishes the skin
  • Ideal for use in Castor Oil Packs
  • Excellent for massage into joints and muscles
  • Hexane Free
  • Paraben-Free

Results: Since I’ve started adding the 5 drops of Castor Oil into my facial oil moisturizer, I’ll say that my face has responded positively.  My acne has now come under control and  the clogged pores that I had are being dislodged.  With continued use, I believe that all my acne will be eliminated entirely.

I will be posting an update in about another week.

NYC Big Bold Ultra Volume Mascara

Review: NYC Big Bold Ultra Volume Mascara

Unopened Mascara

Image

This mascara is touted as one of the very best mascaras for obtaining big lashes so I figured that I should give this one a try.  Also being cheap as it is at $4.99 plus tax at RiteAid (and less when there is a sale) I didn’t have much to lose, well maybe my coffee money, but besides that, it was alright.

This mascara comes in a bright adorable pink tube with very bold writing just as in its name.

The mascara’s wand is VERY big, as you can tell in this photo, and at first I found it too difficult to maneuver and I felt like not using it at all, but being that I had paid $4.99 plus tax I wanted to make this mascara work.

In the end, this mascara was really worth it because I really ended up loving it after all.  I have been using this mascara for about two weeks and I have to say that I am in love.  I get super lashes from this and this has become one of my favorite mascara.

Pros: It gives great volume and really does what it claims; affordable.

Con: difficult at first to get the hang of.
